I copied the whole Thunderbird program on a flash drive, then plugged that in to the laptop, and opened it (hoping all the emails would transfer over) but there were no emails there.
I already deleted them from my email acount and this is the last place where all the emails are that I want on my laptop.
Can anyone help?

No program stores data in itself. You need to check the properties of you account folders, wherever they are you need to copy the WHOLE folder across, this may need a really big flash drive.
