You can backup mySQL databases either through the Backup feature in your control panel, or use phpMyAdmin to backup.

Absolutely. Once of the advantages of PHP is its ability to interface with databases, including MySQL. Since we offer MySQL as apart of our service, you can use PHP as a front-end to your MySQL databases. Not only is this possible, but it is very powerful.
